What Will Your “Until” Moment Be in 2026?
Happy New Year 🤍 I’m so blessed that we’ve made it to the other side of the year — 2026. Isn’t it awesome?
The start of a new year and all it represents. All the beauty. All the possibilities.
It’s almost like a blank cheque — placed in your hands — waiting for you to write on it what you will.
Lately, I’ve been studying the life of Deborah.
And one of the things that really stood out to me was the circumstances she was in. Where she was. The timing. Everything looked bleak. Everything looked bad.
And this truth stood out so clearly to me:
For every move of God, there is an “until” — waiting for someone to rise.
When it was time to rebuild the walls of Israel, Nehemiah was burdened. He heard about what was happening. He saw the devastation. He prayed about it. And then he decided to do something about it.
It wasn’t enough to just feel bad. It wasn’t enough to cry. He had to act.
When it came to Esther and the plot to destroy the Israelites — yes, the circumstances were bad. The odds were against her. But she still chose to stand up. She rose. And she spoke.
And Deborah — the Bible describes her time like this:
“The villagers ceased in Israel.”
I had to read that again and again.
How bad does a situation have to be for Scripture to describe it that way?
It says the villagers ceased in Israel until I, Deborah, arose — until I arose, a mother in Israel.
I know there are many reasons you feel you should remain stuck. But don’t.
As this year begins, I invite you to rise.
Rise from the dust of despair. Rise from the dust of failure. Rise from whatever is holding you back.
Take a moment and reflect honestly:
What situation have I been praying about, but hesitating to rise and act in? What fear, disappointment, or past failure has been keeping me from standing up again? Who might rise if I choose to rise today? Arise.
Because in your rising, others will rise too.
Yours in walking and becoming,
Teim
