Sis, you may have too many tabs open.
How are you doing, really?
It’s the 4th week of April… can you believe it?
Have you ever been so exhausted that your mind just couldn’t handle one more thing? You see the responsibilities piling up, but you just can’t get yourself to move.
In those moments, it’s so easy to label ourselves. To say, “I’m just being lazy,” or “I need more motivation.”
But as I reflected this week, I realised—it’s usually much deeper than that.
This kind of exhaustion doesn’t go away with regular sleep. It’s the type where you wake up… and you’re still tired.
It’s a sign that your soul needs restoration.
I was on a walk recently and noticed a tree with vibrant, soft pink flowers. It was beautiful.
But when I looked closer at the branches holding them up, they weren’t “pretty.” They were rough. Cracked. Almost overlooked.
And it reminded me of something:
Every beauty we see is sustained by a system we don’t always notice.
If we want the “flowers” of our lives to bloom and be restored, we have to pay attention to the “stems”—the systems we have built our lives on.
Think of your mind like a laptop.
When you have too many tabs open, first the laptop starts to slow down… and eventually, it freezes.
Our environments—the bitterness, the critical thoughts, the patterns in our minds, multiple duties vying for our attention and even the physical clutter—are like open tabs in our souls.
Even when we try to sleep, those tabs are still running in the background, draining our battery. When our laptop freezes we don't think it is "lazy". We take it as an invitation to Release and Return.
So this week, instead of trying harder… the invitation is to begin by letting the Good Shepherd restore your soul. Truly, "He restores my soul" was not written just to make us feel good—it was written because it is essential truth.
In this week’s podcast episode, I walk through the 5 R’s of Restoration:
Relationship — Allowing yourself to be led Remembering — Returning to what you already know Rhythms — Building a life you don’t need a holiday to escape from Release — Letting go of the “dead flowers” and weights that aren’t yours to carry Rest — Choosing to stop striving and finally exhale.
Take a moment to reflect:
What "tabs" are open in my mind right now that I need to close? What is one thing I can release today to make room for new growth? Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep becoming the amazing woman God already sees. You don’t have to carry it all. Your Shepherd is there with you every step of the way, leading you toward the green pastures.
Yours in walking and becoming,
Teim❤️
