Your Posture After Success
Welcome to another beautiful week.
Often we pray for God to bless the works of our hands, to increase us and to cause His favour to rest on us...and that is not a wrong prayer.
But the question for you today is:
If God gave you today the thing you have been praying for, would your posture change?
Would you still pray the way you pray now?
Would you still seek His direction before making decisions?
Would you still place value on the people, disciplines and relationships that have helped you along the way?
Would you still remember that you need God?
The life of David is a great example.
Before anyone knew his name, he was tending sheep. He fought lions and bears when there was no audience to applaud him. Then one day, the same faithfulness that had been developed in obscurity was suddenly on display before an entire army.
Goliath fell.
David’s name became known.
More responsibilities came.
People celebrated him.
Songs were even written about his victories.
Yet success wasn’t the end of David’s journey of faithfulness. In many ways, it introduced a different kind of test.
Can you remain the same woman in your heart when your circumstances change?
Sometimes the greatest test of our faith feels like those times when nothing seems to be happening, those nights of tears, months and years of unanswered prayers.
But there is another test:
Can we remain faithful when it is happening?
Can we remain teachable when people begin listening to us?
Can we maintain our disciplines when life becomes more comfortable?
Can we keep seeking God when we have enough experience to make the decision ourselves?
Because sometimes the disciplines that seem essential when we are building can begin to feel optional when we have built.
And that becomes dangerous.
David eventually reached a point where, at a time when kings went to war, he could afford to stay behind.
The man who had spent years fighting battles was no longer where he ordinarily would have been.
And in that moment, he became vulnerable.
The disciplines we practise while waiting for what we have asked God for.
The prayers. The dependence. The humility. The willingness to learn.
The consistency when nobody is watching.
Are still relevant even after the answers arrive.
Our increase should not make us forget the posture we had when we were asking God for help.
So our prayer shouldn't simply be:
“Lord, bless the work of my hands.”
But also:
“Lord, when You bless it, help my heart to remain aligned with Your will.”
This week, I want to leave you with one question:
What discipline must remain non-negotiable in the place God is taking you?
Don’t wait until you arrive there to decide.
Remember:
Success doesn’t mean you have outgrown dependence on God, it means you need Him even more than before.
Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep becoming the amazing woman God already sees.
Yours in walking and becoming,
Teim❤️
