Silver, Gold, and the “Missing Piece"
Happy new month and welcome to the month of April.
Happy Easter! I trust you are being reminded this week of all the wonders the cross and His resurrection brought us. It’s because of that empty tomb that we can truly lean into the promise of the Shepherd.
You know, many times life can feel perpetually empty… like there’s always something missing. And in those moments, Psalm 23 becomes an anchor:
“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.”
Notice—it didn’t say, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall have no need.” Needs are the bare minimum… the essentials for survival. But want goes beyond that.
There is a massive difference between surviving and being shepherded.
Sometimes we feel exhausted because we’ve made provision a “me” function. We think our strength, our clarity, and our purpose depend on how much we can hustle. But the moment you accept the status of the Shepherd in our lives, provision stops being about your effort and starts being about His leadership.
But many times there’s a tension, isn’t there? Between what Scripture says—and what your life currently looks like. Between “I shall not want” and the reality that feels like something is missing.
It can feel like a disconnect. Like… “God, your Word says this… but this is not what I’m seeing.”
But here’s the truth:
It’s not just about having things. When the Lord is your Shepherd, provision starts being a function of the One who leads you.
And because He is your Shepherd:
You shall not be in want of courage.
You shall not be in want of vision.
You shall not be in want of clarity.
You shall not be in want of purpose.
Scripture says He has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness.
So this week, I want to gently shift your focus: Not on what you don’t have… but on what you do have.
I’m reminded of when Peter and John were going to the temple, and they said: “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give to you.”
What do you have? What has God already given you?
Because what you have in Him… is more than enough.
Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep becoming the amazing woman God already sees. Your life is not defined by what you don’t have—but by what you do have in Him.
Yours in walking and becoming,
Teim❤️
