Allow Your Soul to Prosper
Welcome a beautiful, beautiful new week.
You know, I’ve been listening to the audiobook Soul Care by Debra Fileta, and it’s just been so good… and it has truly cared for my soul, needless to say.
And you know how sometimes you read the Bible and you never notice certain things? You don’t always see how Jesus responded in situations, how He lived His life in different seasons, and how He actually honoured His human experience. He didn’t push past it. He didn’t ignore it.
When He was tired, He sat by the well to rest while His disciples went to buy food. When He was thirsty, He asked for a drink. When He saw that people were hungry, He didn’t deny the human experience—He responded to it. When He was in anguish, He spoke to the Father about what He was feeling.
But I think sometimes, in our search for spirituality and growth, we forget that it is worship to care for your body. It is worship to pay attention to the rhythms of your body and what it is saying to you in each moment. That, too, is worship.
Worship is not just when you are praying in your closet. Worship is also when your soul is deeply healed—so that it can function without dysfunction, without a disconnection between your soul and your spirit.
I’m reminded of the song Another in the Fire by Hillsong UNITED: “there’s a grace when the heart is under fire. Another way when the walls are closing in. When I look at the space between where I used to be and this reckoning, I know I will never be the same.”
There is a space between where you are and a kind of reckoning—where you are being invited to become who you need to be.
And Scripture says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2)
It sounds to me like the prosperity of your soul is the key to unlocking prosperity in other areas.
Yes, we receive a renewed spirit by virtue of becoming believers. But the flourishing of other aspects of our lives is often shaped by how well our soul is tended to.
So the invitation this week is simple: heal, and notice.
The chorus of that song is such a beautiful reminder: “there’s another in the fire standing next to me. There’s another in the waters holding back the seas.”
Give yourself the time and permission to pay attention. Let your soul catch up with you. Let it be restored. Let it prosper.
And in those moments where it feels like you are alone, stretched, or under pressure—remember this: you are not alone. There is always Another with you.
And He deeply cares that your soul prospers.
Keep walking. Keep believing. Keep becoming the woman God already sees.
Yours in walking and becoming,
Teim❤️
