When love looks like delay
A lovely new week to you.
John 11:5–7 (TPT) [5–6] Now even though Jesus loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, he remained where he was for two more days. [7] Finally, on the third day, he said to his disciples, “Come. It’s time to go to Bethany.”
I find this scripture quite intriguing because my concept of how love manifests is quite different from God’s.
His love often compels Him to act beyond the here and now for our ultimate good — and sometimes that appears as delay.
Mary and Martha wanted a healer, but Jesus wanted their view of Him to expand — to see the Resurrection and the Life.
Waiting is hard.
I remember all the times I have waited at the emergency department to be attended to. It is difficult — frustration, disappointment, and even confusion can fill your heart.
Today, be reminded that “delay” is often a call to move from shallow to deeper. Delay is often a call to revelation beyond what you already know. Delay is His loving therapy — to mould us and remove what doesn’t need to be there.
Be reminded of His love, because it remains as true even now.
💭 Reflection: What might God be inviting me to see about Him in this season of waiting?
Yours in walking and becoming,❤️
