What Atmosphere Do You Wield?

15 September 2026
Scripture in this reflectionJohn 8:1-11

Welcome to another beautiful week. I trust the start of the new week brought you blessings.

You know it is easy to think of impact in terms of what people hear from us.

The advice we give.

The things we teach.

The work we do.

The platforms we build.

But there is another question that is also weighty:

How do people feel after they have encountered you?

Do they feel smaller?

Do they feel judged?

Do they feel like they have to perform?

Or do they feel seen, strengthened, encouraged and safe enough to become?

Because sometimes our greatest influence is not in what we say.

It is in the atmosphere we wield.

Think about the life of Jesus.

People came to Him carrying shame, sickness, questions, failure and complicated stories.

And although He was never afraid to speak truth, people who encountered Him were often left with something they did not have before.

Hope. Dignity. Clarity. Courage. Healing. A new beginning.

A sense that their story was not over.

Let's take the woman caught in adultery.

She was dragged into the middle of a crowd at one of the most humiliating moments of her life. Everyone around her was ready to reduce her to what she had done.

But Jesus did something different.

He did not pretend what she did was okay, neither did He allow her worst moment to become the definition of who she was.

He protected her dignity, spoke truth and then gave her grace to start anew.

That is what influence really is about.

It is leaving people more able to become who God is calling them to be.

So dearest sister , the question to ask is not really so much about:

How many people am I reaching?

But:

What happens to people when they come within my reach?

Because it is possible to have a large platform and still create an atmosphere of fear, comparison or insecurity.

On the other hand, it is possible to have small circle and consistently leave people feeling strengthened, loved and reminded of who God created them to be.

That is the kind of influence that outlasts trends.

So this week, ponder on this:

What do people consistently experience when they encounter me?

Not what you intend them to experience.

What do they actually experience?

In the midst of this question may God open your eyes to the impact your life is already making and to the many ways He still intends to grow within you so your life is even more fruitful.
