Trust and Release to Become

29 December 2025
Key reflectionYou can be a masterpiece and still be a work in progress.

As the year draws to a close, many of us instinctively begin to review what we achieved — what worked, what didn’t, and what still feels unfinished.

I would however invite you not just to review the year… but to reflect on the woman you’re becoming.

This year has taught me a lot about faith:

1. I learned that God can absolutely be trusted — not just in the promises He gives, but in the pace He chooses to bring them to pass.

There were moments this year where things felt slow. Moments where it felt tempting to hustle, rush, or force outcomes.

But this year reminded me that God’s timing can be trusted, even when it doesn’t look like what I expected.

2. There is a space between promise and fulfilment — and that space is not wasted. It is the space of becoming.

And becoming isn’t passive.

Also If we want to step into a new version of ourselves, we must be willing to release the versions that no longer serve us.

Sometimes what needs releasing isn’t a person or a season — it’s an identity we’ve been holding onto.

The one who is always available.

The one with no boundaries.

The one who fixes everything.

The one who carries more than she was ever meant to.

Releasing doesn’t mean you stop being kind or helpful — it means you stop allowing your time, peace, and worth to be at the mercy of whoever shows up in your day.

It also means releasing the critical voice within.

You don’t have to be your own worst critic to grow. Reflection doesn’t require self-punishment. You can acknowledge where you want to improve without tearing yourself down.

You can still say: This is what I did well. And this is where I’m growing.

And then there’s comparison — another thing many of us need to lay down.

Your lane is different. Your pace is different. Your assignment is different. What matters isn’t who looks ahead or behind — it’s finishing your race well.

So as we stand at the edge of a new year, I want to leave you with this truth:

The mustard seed doesn’t look like the massive tree it will eventually become. Even when you may not look like it — you are it.

And this reminder:

Even when we can’t see His hand, He’s always working. God works behind the scenes, orchestrating the details of our lives.

You can be a masterpiece and still be a work in progress.

So pause and reflect this week:

What version of me is God inviting me to release? What mindset am I choosing to let go? Where do I need to trust Him more deeply in my becoming? Who have I become in the course of 2025? You are not behind. You are becoming.

And I’m grateful to be walking this journey with you.

Yours in walking and becoming,

Teim
