Stop! Before you step out this week look at the right mirror.

Lovely new week.

We all use mirrors — sometimes without even thinking about it. A quick glance before leaving the house, a touch-up during the day, a check to make sure everything is in place. But recently, I realised something: not every mirror tells the truth.

Some mirrors distort. Some shrink. Some stretch. Some widen. And depending on the mirror you’re standing in front of, you may walk away believing something about yourself that isn’t actually true.

Think of a funhouse mirror — the kind that makes your legs look long one second and tiny the next. It shows you a version of yourself, but never the real one.

Or a convex mirror, like the ones on cars. It gives you a wider view, but everything looks smaller than it truly is.

A concave mirror does the opposite — it pulls the image in and magnifies it. Some features look bigger, closer, more dramatic than they actually are.

And then there’s the plain mirror — the simple, faithful one that shows you things just as they are.

Life has its mirrors too.

People’s opinions can be convex — shrinking your worth. Your insecurities can be concave — magnifying flaws that God has already covered. Comparison is the funhouse mirror — distorting the truth until you barely recognise yourself. But the Word of God? That is the plain, faithful mirror — revealing who you truly are in Him.

Everytime I find myself shrinking, doubting and afraid, I can alway trace it back to standing in front of the wrong mirrors without realising it — allowing distorted reflections shape my confidence and my decisions.

But God, in His patience, always draws us back to the right mirror — the one that reflects identity, truth, and the woman He is forming you into.

So this week, I want you to pause and ask yourself:

👉🏾 What mirror have I been looking into?

👉🏾 And what truth is God inviting me to return to?

May you find the courage to step away from distorted reflections and return to the mirror that never lies — His Word, His voice, His truth about who you are.

Yours in walking and believing, 💛
