Become a scientist of the faith.
I’ve been thinking about something that quietly shifts our walk with God — often without us even realising it.
Sometimes, what makes our journey with God start to feel like a chore isn’t a lack of discipline… it’s comparison.
We begin to measure our experience of God against what others describe — how they pray, how they hear Him, how deeply moved they seem. And slowly, intimacy turns into effort. Presence turns into performance.
But when we look through Scripture, there something so wonderful:
God’s relationship with Moses looked different from His relationship with Joshua. His dealings with each person was unique, personal and intentional. There was no template.
Yes, we should all desire more of God. Yes, we should all want to go deeper.
But what deeper looks like — and how it’s cultivated — will be different for every single person.
That’s why sincerity matters. Individuality matters. Authenticity matters. And yes it is ok to experiment with what that would look like for you.
God isn’t inviting you to copy someone else’s rhythm — He’s inviting you to be you in His presence.
When we come to Him that way, time with God stops feeling like something we need to tick off: “Okay, I’ve prayed. I’ve done that for today.”
It becomes a whole new journey.
One where we move past emotion and feelings and it becomes a place where we simply want to be. Because it’s real. Because it’s safe. Because it’s a place where we know without a doubt that we are loved, seen and accepted.
Think of your relationship with God like that friend you can call when everything is falling apart — the one you don’t have to pretend with. The one who you don't need to have your hair all done or make-up all on point to spend time with.
The one you can say, “This is what’s happened. I don’t know what to do.”
Yes, you know sometimes they’ll correct you. Sometimes they’ll hug you. Sometimes they’ll walk alongside you quietly or even pray with you. But you know — without question — they’ve got your back. 100%
That’s how God wants us to come to Him. Not polished. Not rehearsed. But open. Honest. Real.
Because He already knows you — and He loves you regardless.
So this week, I want to invite you into something simple:
Come to God with the posture of a best friend.
No comparison. No pressure. Just presence.
A gentle reflection: Where have I been comparing my experience of God to someone else’s — and how might that be stealing joy from my intimacy with Him?
Keep walking, believing, and becoming the woman God already sees.
Yours in walking and becoming,
Teim
