From Insecurity to Inner Glow

Scripture in this reflectionExodus 28:2

There’s a kind of beauty that radiates differently when a woman becomes comfortable in her own skin.

Not because everything about her suddenly became “perfect.”

But because she is no longer constantly fighting herself.

This week, I found myself reflecting on beauty, confidence, identity, and the quiet insecurities many of us carry as women.

Growing up, there were parts of myself I was insecure about. I didn’t fit certain expectations around what beauty was “supposed” to look like especially as an African woman, and some innocent comments planted seeds of insecurity without people realising it.

But over time, I’ve realised something powerful:

Confidence changes how beauty is carried.

There is a glow that comes from becoming secure in who and whose you are.

And honestly, I think that glow radiates more deeply than makeup ever could.

One thing I shared in this week’s episode is that even the podcast art for Reframe Her Worth is me without makeup. Not because makeup is wrong, but because I personally wanted to build a confidence that remained even when my face was bare.

I wanted to feel beautiful without needing something external to convince me that I was.

And I think that journey has taught me that beauty is not the enemy.

God Himself instructed that priestly garments be made “for beauty and for glory.”

Beauty is valid.

But there is a glory attached to beauty that sustains it.

There is a radiance that comes from identity. A confidence that comes from peace. A glow that comes from knowing who you are in Christ.

So yes: look good. Dress well. Enjoy beauty.

But beyond all of that, pursue the inner glow that comes from the glory.

Because confidence rooted in identity radiates differently.

Let what people notice be the glow of someone who has been with the Father - not just your glam.
